V-DAY HORROR<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

It was Valentine\u2019s Day. Joan and Dave, new clients, had been married for less than a year. Things were going fairly well with a few hiccups we were working on. As she awaited his return from work, she pictured cards, Godivas, champagne, as her mother received.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He came home, winced and tossed her a bag of caramels he got at the 1.25 Store. \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

She stared in shock, flew into anger, yelling: \u201cTHIS IS IT?!\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0Dave, offended, responded with \u201cWhoa! I just got home and \u2013<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Joan interrupted: \u201cYou shouldn\u2019t have bothered \u2026 obviously you don\u2019t really give much of a damn about me.\u201d\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

And they were off. The fight continued, ruined the day, the next day and even the week. They either yelled or kept their distance. The event, even when supposedly forgiven remained like a rank lemon in their mouths, wafting around at the next session. \u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As this was a pattern it was tearing at the fabric of their marriage.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In session with SRT, we looked at the Incorrect Thoughts or Presumptions; in this case, a MINDSET of UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS. She tends to hear and see most things through this lens of this Mindset. WE MOVED ON FROM THERE, AND CONTINUE TO INCREASE HIS UNDERSTANDING CHANGE HER REACTIONS.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

IT\u2019S ME<\/b><\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Phil has been an account executive with a large national corporation for four years. He\u2019s bright with ideas but hesitates to put them forward as boss is super bright and direct. She\u2019s fairly friendly but he came into session very upset as she hadn\u2019t responded to his \u201chello\u201d with her usual enthusiasm for several days. He was a wreck .<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In session, with SRT, we looked at the Incorrect Thoughts or Presumptions; in this case, a MINDSET OF PERSONALIZATION. \u201cIT\u2019S MY FAULT, I\u2019M A LOSER.\u201d PHIL HEARS AND SEES MOST THINGS THROUGH THIS INCORRECT LENS. WE MOVED ON FROM THERE, WITH PHIL FIRST SEEING THIS IS NONSENSE AND FORCING HIMSELF TO LOOK AT OTHER REASONS HIS BOSS MIGHT BE PRE-OCCUPIED, USING REALITY AS A BASE, AS HE DID NOTHING WRONG. WE COULD NOW CONTINUE TO INCREASE HIS UNDERSTANDING AND CHANGE HIS REACTIONS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

MAD MAD MAD<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

George\u2019s brother Richard got him a car battery, then later asked \u201cWell, did you get it to work?\u201d That was it! George flew into a rage.
\n\u201cWHY ARE YOU ASKING? AGAIN, YOU\u2019RE CRITICIZING!! I\u2019VE HAD ENOUGH OF IT AND YOU.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, George has an \u201canger problem.\u201d\u00a0 MAD is his MINDSET.\u00a0 HE INCORRECTLY HEARS AND SEES MOST THINGS THROUGH THIS LENS.
\nAs it turned out the brothers had long assigned themselves MINDSETS INCORRECTLY, PUSHING EACH OTHER\u2019S BUTTONS EVER FURTHER,
\nEVEN WITHOUT CAUSE OR DELIBERATION.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

In session, with SRT, we looked at the Incorrect Thoughts or Presumptions; in this case, a MINDSET OF IMPULSIVE ANGER. GEORGE HEARS AND SEES MOST THINGS THROUGH THIS INCORRECT LENS. WE MOVED ON FROM THERE, WITH GEORGE FIRST SEEING HOW HE JUMPS, AND LOOKING AT WAYS TO CALM AND FIND OUT WHAT\u2019S GOING ON.
\nWE COULD NOW CONTINUE TO INCREASE HIS UNDERSTANDING AND CHANGE HIS REACTIONS.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
